Welcome to the 1st Joint Annual Meeting 2027
of S
SNS and NeuroSpine

Dear Members,
Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, we are very pleased to invite you to the 1st Joint Annual Meeting of SSNS and NeuroSpine. The two-day meeting will take place from Thursday, March 11 - Friday March 12, 2027, at the BERNEXPO in Bern.

For the first time, the Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society of Neurosurgery and the NeuroSpine Meeting will join forces in a single, unified event.
Under the theme Bridging Brain and Spine: The Future of Neurosurgery, this new format brings together leading expertise in both brain and spine surgery on one shared platform, marking a forward-looking step toward stronger collaboration across our field.

The Joint Meeting 2027 will focus on pathology-based sessions, interdisciplinary topics linking brain and spine surgery, and advances in precision medicine. The program is designed to foster exchange, encourage dialogue, and create meaningful connections across specialties.

Thursday’s sessions will complement the NeuroSpine Meeting and are structured to engage both spine and brain specialists, including highlights such as the SYNS Science Slam.
On Friday, the focus turns to conditions at the intersection of brain and spine surgery, opening space for shared perspectives and collaboration.

Key topics include robotics in brain surgery, precision therapy for brain tumours, spinal pathologies such as dural AV fistulas, craniocervical conditions, neuroendoscopy, and the Swiss Brain Health Plan.

Each session will feature selected abstracts, offering researchers the opportunity to present their work.
The “Poster Flash” format will further enrich the scientific exchange by giving concise and dynamic visibility to a wide range of contributions.
Sponsored educational lectures will also be part of the program.

We are grateful for the support of our industry partners, who will be present on site to showcase innovations and engage with participants.

A special highlight will be the Joint Networking Event on Thursday evening, providing a relaxed setting to connect with colleagues.

We warmly look forward to welcoming you to Bern for this new joint meeting and to two days of engaging discussions, fresh ideas, and collaboration.
